DADA WILL NEVER RETIRE FROM OUR HEARTS
And today when the world is bidding him goodbye I realized how much i am going to miss him. Ill never forget the moment when Dada removed his TShirt in Lords, Indias win against Australia, 2003 World Cup , and many more. The TV kept showing Dada everywhere, his old glorious days and how we wont be able to see him anymore, and this was the time when I felt like bursting into tears.
I would all the time fight with anybody and everybody who said a word against Dada. But now i realised how people will keep talking against him(thats all they can do anyways), he doesnt have to prove anything to anybody because no matter what we will always believe in him.So truly said by Ajay Jadeja that he is the one who changed the face of Indian cricket. His achievements both as a player and a captain is boundless. There have been many great players but being known as a great captain is something totally different. Its said that a captain is as good as his team. Thus the task of managing a team is much higher than scoring runs or taking wickets.
I am not writing this article to prove how good or great Ganguly is, I am writing this to bid farewell to a great player, captain and person 'Sourav Ganguly' and show my love and support for him. He has been through a lot of trials and tribulations and has always come out as a winner which has been a learning for me. His life has also taught me how one can convert failure into success and how one need not care about what the world says if one has belief in himself.
Dada and cricket have always been synonymous for me. So Cricket will not remain the same for me anymore without him. I am really feeling very emotional right now writing about him and watching his press conference.
I just want to end this article saying " Dada you may have retired from cricket but you will never retire from our hearts. We love you and always will. You will live forever in our memories and our hearts." Cheers.

Voice your opinion
I think people just don’t think on their own because it is easy for them to adopt someone else’s opinion. Every article or review given in a newspaper or magazine is from that author’s perspective and not ours. We may agree or disagree to something but for that we need to think on our own instead of blindly believing whatever the other person is saying. Every person is entitled to an opinion.
Fear is one of the key factors which resists a person from giving his view. It can be fear of going against the majority or fear of being laughed at or simply fear of giving an opinion. One of the basic steps is to overcome this fear and stand up for oneself. A person has to believe in himself to be able to voice their opinions.
I ‘ve started writing this blog to give my personal views and to speak my mind out. I hope after reading this article other people also start thinking and speaking for themselves.

THE WRITING EXPERIENCE
I joined this writing workshop which helps a person improve his style of writing.
But when I tell people about it they all give me the same reaction ”Why do you need a writing school. Don't you already know how to write?”
I don’t have a proper answer for it. If I told them that I joined it because I liked writing and I wanted to improve on it or that I wanted to learn something new as I was bored of my monotonous life in office, I could actually see them rollin their eyes . But the bottom line is that it really helped me a lot. Our instructor in the writing school was a real fascinating man named Prashant Rajkhowa. He was such a talented guy (a reporter, journalist, director, producer, scuba diver and bartender) . It was a pleasure just to listen to him. I learnt so many new and interesting things from him.
People think that it is weird to join a class that teaches you ‘how to write’, sumthing that we already know. But it is a myth. After attending the workshop I realized how less I knew and there is so much more to learn.
The writing class was an experience to cherish. I became a lot richer(with knowledge) after this course.

UNSUNG HOCKEY STARS
The other day I was walking on Bandra station to catch a train. There I saw Viren Rasquinha leaving the station. I’m sure most of the people reading this won’t know who I’m talking about.
So let me tell u all that I’m talking about Viren Rasquinha, the hockey player from Mumbai who played for the Indian National Team. He was a national level hockey player. He retired from hockey just a few days back to pursue his management studies. He played many games for our country and is quite a regular face on the newspapers .
He was casually walking with a bag hung around his shoulders and earphones in his ears like any other person on the station. I saw him and kept staring at him. I was wondering ‘What is Viren Rasquinha doing on Bandra station?’ But I was more surprised to see that no one seemed to recognize him there. No one even gave him a second look. He was just another guy for everyone else there. If it would have been Sachin or Sourav walking there you can imagine what the scenario would have been. Even some small time cricketer or a TV star would attract more attention. So why not a big hockey player like Viren Rasquinha ? I saw one news channel going around asking people for the names of five hockey players in the Indian national team and not a single person could answer it.
I would blame the media for this. If the media puts the hockey news and hockey players photos in some corner of the newspaper we cant expect the people to notice it. We know how the media can make or break something. So I hope the media does something to save our dying National game and their stars.

KUDOS TO Dr. VIJAY MALLYA
But the scenario is changing now a days. And I believe one person who has made a genuine effort to encourage sports in India is Dr. Vijay Mallya. It is because of him that games like football and f1 racing are gaining popularity in India. More people are watching football , f1 racing and tennis which are internationally more popular games.
He sponsored the East Bengal football club . During this time East Bengal won the Asean Cup which helped them earn a name in the international scene. Baichung Bhutia also played for English Club Bury.
He has also bought a f1 team and named it Force India. I feel so proud when I watch f1 racing now . I can support my own country now instead of Ferrari or Mclaren. Our team has just started but is doing quite well and I'm sure the day is not far when the drivers of our team will be standing on the podium and our national anthem will be played. He has not ignored cricket too.
He has done a great deal to encourage different games other than cricket in India. He has helped games like football and f1 gain popularity in India.
Dr Vijay Mallya's efforts to encourage various sports in India deserves an applause.
